Farewell
A farewell was organized for II PUC students in the college on 28th January, 2012. The day started by invoking God’s blessings. This was followed by laying off of the office of the student council. The principal jogged down the year that was, highlighted few happy moments, gave applauses, took oath from the students to become good Samaritans and wished them GOOD LUCK!!! Followed by this was a speech delivered by Mr. Roshan Menezes, the administrator of the college. He praised the outgoing batch to be the most diversified batch. He also advised students not to be couch potatoes but to be independent in thinking and also working at it. Mrs. Suma H. N, advisor of the student council also praised the council participation in conducting various activities very responsibly. Mrs. Evelyn Prakash, from Biology department addressed the gathering and advised the students to “forgive and forget”, wished them all the best for their future. Students also shared the stage to talk their experience and thanked the management and the teachers.

Republic Day Celebration
The college celebrated the 63rd Republic Day on 26th January 2012. The flag was hoisted by Mr.Roshan Menezes. Mr. Raju K.N, PE Director of the college, anchored the event. Mrs. Suman Naresh , from the English department, reminded the gathering about the work done by freedom fighters, importance of the day and the responsibility of the youth towards the Nation. Shama (ID) sang “Sare Jahan Se Acha”. Sweets were distributed to refresh the sweet memories of the formation of the Indian Constitution.
 
Hindi Sanghosthi
In association with “Vijaya Bank” “Hindi Sanghosthi” was organized in the college on 27th January 2012. The dignitaries present were Mr. R. V. Shetty, Chief Manager, Vijaya Bank, North Bangalore. Mr. Nagamalleswar Rao, Senior Manager, Vijaya Bank, W.O.C.Road, Mr. Jena, Hindi Section Officer, Vijaya Bank along with the college Principal Mrs. Sandhya Menezes. The purpose of conducting this event was to mainly highlight banking transaction in hindi students were also given information about the procedure for availing student loan. The commerce department Hindi students spoke very eloquently in hindi about various topics.

Tenth Annual Day Celebration
Carmel PU College, Basaveshwarnagar, celebrated its tenth Annual day on January 10th 2012. The guests offered Shraddanjali to the founder Secretary of institution Late.Mr.Alexander Menezes. The dignitaries present were Mrs. Patsy Lobo, chief guest of the day, Mr. Derek Lobo Retd Regional Advisor for South East Asia United Nations (WHO), President of Carmel Education Society ®, Mr.Jagannath Shetty and Principal of Carmel School Mrs.Doorthy Menezes along with the Administrator of the college Mr.Roshan Menezes & Principal of the college Mrs.Sandhya Menezes.

The day witnessed the release of the News Letter for the year 2011 – 12. The Chief Guest was felicitated for the services she has rendered as an Educationist. She addressed the gathering in which she emphasized that an educationist has to dream big to motivate the students to dream bigger. This was followed by an awards presentation ceremony for the deserving students comprising of Principal’s award for the best class representative, award for 100% attendance in and so on. Ms.Kanchana.S.P & Mithun .K.Prasad bagged the best outgoing student’s award.
The Institution’s dream of making it globally accessible came true with the launch of its website. There was a presentation showcasing the institution’s journey through the decade. The day culminated with mesmerizing musical orchestra, dance, drama, dance off between the present and ex-carmelites , fashion show highlighting the metamorphosis of fashion and street dance.
 
Alexander Memorial Trophy
Intra Collegiate Tennis ball Cricket Tournament, Alexander Memorial Trophy was held on 24th December 2011, where ‘I D’ emerged as winners and ‘I B’ emerged as runners.

Street play “Bhrashtavayithe Bharatha” was conducted on 4th November, near Ambedkar stadium in Basaveshwarnagar.
 
Sciencibition was conducted on 28th November in the college campus inaugurated by Dr. Bhaskar, Retd. Professor, RV Teachers’ College.
Students from around 28 colleges in and around Bangalore city actively participated in the event and enthusiastically showcased their models.

The Annual Athletic meet was held on 19th November in Kamalammagundi grounds. The chief guest who presided was Mrs. Geeta Kulkarni, Inspector of Police, Basaveshwarnagar.
