Annual Day
Annual Day was celebrated on Jan 12th 2013, along with Vivekananda�s 150th Birth anniversary. This day many excellences were recognized and were awarded. A Stage Show �Life in Carmel� added colour to the day where events of the whole year was enacted.

 

 

Ethnic Day
Dec 13th 2012 saw an extravagant fashion show of Carmelites walking ramp. Both boys and girls were dressed very colorfully. To sum it up, it was a very vibrant participation through all the sessions of the fashion show.
Dixit Bhatt (IID) was crowned Mr. Carmel and Sagarika Mukand was crowned Ms. Carmel.

 

 

Sports Day
The annual athletic meet was conducted on Nov 30th 2012, at the Ambedkar ground. Mr.Tulsidas international Kho-kho player declared the meet open. There was stiff competition as all the participants took part very actively. Class IA emerged as overall champions.

 

 

Blood Donation Camp

Community service centre and student council conducted blood donation camp in the campus on 18th August 2012 in association with Lion’s club. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Roshan Menezes administrator of the college. Mrs. Sandhya Menezes principal of the college welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Geetha, district corporate of Women and Child of Bangalore Excel addressed the gathering and inspire them about blood donation. To sum it up the blood donation camp was a success as it had a large number of donors.

 

 

 

Eco-Run
The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that somebody else will save it. But, Staff and Students of Carmel PU College believe that they should do their bit. They showed their concern about the environment that is being polluted by taking part in the Eco Run on WORLD OZONE DAY on 16th September 2012 at the Cubbon Park. They carried placards with slogans on ozone depletion. It was a bright and sunny morning where the students were given saplings so that they would be sensitive to the issue and be part of the movement of saving our mother earth. The community service nit and the eco club members along with the staff incharges were present showing their true concern.



 

Teacher’s play Throwball at Carmel.

The Lecturers were at their best at the Throwball tournament organized by the Physical Education Department. The Captains of the two teams were Mrs.Sandhya Menezes and Mrs.Nirmala M. Team captained by Mrs.Nirmala M were the winners.

 

Carmel Pre-University college is associated with department of Pre-University Education Bangalore North hosted the District Level Throwball tournament on 12/09/2012at Carmel Sports Ground for boys and girls.
The tournament was inaugurated by the Deputy Director, Mr.Eshwar Murthy and Mr.Roshan Menezes declared the meet open. The Principal Mrs.Sandhya Menezes, welcomed the Physical Education directors, the players and sports lovers. The programme was conducted by our Physical Education directors, Mr.Raju KN

Teacher's Day Celebration

A grand celebration was organized for the teachers on the fifth of September 2012 .Treasure hunt was organized for the teachers, where the teachers were seen running all around the campus looking for clue�s and were all out to hit the bull�s eye. Teachers and students took part in an uniue event Mentor and me where they walked the ramp and introduced each other creatively. Teachers were divided into groups and fun games were conducted to dig out the latent talents of the teachers. To sum it up the teachers had an amazing treat of fun galore.

 

 

 

 

Independence Day

Independence Day was celebrated in the campus. Mr. Roshan Menezes administrator of the college hoisted the flag and addressed the students about the importance of patriotism. On this occasion Eco Club launched birthday planting programme and Community Service Centre volunteers went around the college to spread awareness about dengue. Principal of the college Mrs.Sandhya Menezes appreciated these deeds of both the eco-club and community service centre and addressed the gathering to actively participate in such good deeds.

 

 

 

 

MALHAR 2012

Carmel PU College, celebrated the intra-collegiate festival � MALHAR 2012 on 4th August 2012. There was a shower of talents in the campus.

Sanjana Hegde from the alumni inaugurated the event. Administrator of the college Mr. Roshan Menezes, Principal of the college Mrs. Sandhya Menezes and Principal of the Carmel School Mrs. Dorothy Menezes, also graced the occasion.

Carmelites participated very zealously in the various events to exhibit their talents. The day saw a galore of events like Mehandi designing, Jugal bandhi, Speaking pictures, Fireless cooking�.etc, and it looked as though monsoons and the shower of talents were synchronizing.

 

 

 

Interact club activity

An educational programme about general concerns and sex education was organized separately for girls and boys on 25th July 2012, where Dr. Ravindra Pukale was the spokesperson for boys and Dr. Devika Gunasheela was the spokesperson for girls. Dr. Ravindra Pukale, an assistant professor in Adichunchanagiri Medical College, conducted an interactive informative session with boys, made them aware of the anatomy and physiology of human body, the reproductive system was also explained. He also threw light on sex related diseases and cleared certain wrong conceptions before winding up.

 

 

An interactive session for girls with Dr. Devika Gunasheela was organized on 25th July 2012, where the doctor spoke about certain general topics, wherein she discussed about the female reproductive system difference between the female and the male reproductive system, difference between the female and the male reproductive system, menstruation ovulation, sex related diseases, cervical cancer, vaccinations to prevent cervical cancer, AIDS and also clarified certain adolescent age related queries

 

 

Interact Club:

CPUC organized a different type of personality development in the form of magic show which was conducted by Mr. Rajesh Fernando on 9th November 2012. He made students realize their dreams and told them how to design it. Furthermore he taught the students to direct their desires in the right direction and how to be determined and dedicated to it.

 


 

Question of the Month:

Question of Month was conducted by our administrator Mr. Roshan Menezes on 20th June 2012 on the topic: �Should a parent be a friend or remain a parent?�.

Students actively voiced their opinions and it was concluded that situation based parents were expected to play a friend at times and be stern as a parent for the well being of the teenager.

 


 

Green Day:

8th June 2012 was celebrated as �Green day�. Carmel eco club conducted poster making competition on the following topics- (1) Endangered species (2) Innovative methods to overcome pollution (3) Urbanization (4) Conservation of wild life. The prize winners are as follows:

Orientation Programmes:

 

CPUC believes in the need for an orientation programme for both the 1st PUC students and their parents before the start of the academic year. CPUC joined hands with Buoyancee to enrich the students and parents. The student�s orientation programme was organized on 9th June 2012, where Mrs. Madhumathi from Buoyancee conducted the program.

 

The parent�s orientation programme was organized on 11th June 2012, where Mr.Ajit Kaikini from Buoyancee group oriented the parents about parental behavior with teenagers. He advised the parents to have a cordial and friendly relationship with their children.

 

Orientation programme to enrich the teachers was conducted on June 2nd 2012. Mrs. Savitha Navare from Teacher foundation oriented the teachers about POSITIVE DISCIPLINE AND PUNISHMENT.

 


 

Teen�s Week

As a mark of Children�s Day, the staff council conducted Teen�s Week for the students. Fun games were conducted to entertain them. The fun games conducted were Twenty Questions, Basket the Ball, Bull�s Eye, Fate of the Biscuit, Mug the Ball and Long Laugh. All the students participated very enthusiastically.

 

 

 

Food fest

Carmelites believe in the saying �CARE & SHARE�. On the same lines they wish to share their time and energy for a good cause, the result of which was the food fest which was arranged in the campus, where the teachers and students had organized the food fest on different days. As mentioned above the purpose was to extract the Student�s talents and to generate funds for the needy.

 

 

 

 

QUIZ O MATICS

CPUC conducted QUIZ O MATICS an inter collegiate mathematics quiz on 27-11-2012 in the campus.

 

2012 has been declared national year of mathematics. In relation to this CARMEL P U COLLEGE BASAVESWARNAGAR, conducted QUIZ -O-MATICS an inter collegiate mathematics quiz in the college campus .Principal of the college Mrs.Sandhya Menezes inaugurated the event. Students from different colleges actively participated. The quiz happened in two rounds, the first being the preliminary round to select the finalists. Six teams were selected for the finals, where one team was from the host college.Mr. Roshan Menezes administrator of the college conducted the quiz very vibrantly. V V S Sardar Patel college ,Basasveswarnagar, emerged as winners. Bhagawan Mahavir Jain college, V V Puram were placed second and Carmel P U College was placed third.
